Isabel Winkels graduated in Law at the Complutense University in 1987 and has been a member of the Madrid Bar Association since then. At present she is the managing partner of Winkels Abogados, a law firm which specializes in civil law, and, above all, in family law. Winkels has an extensive professional experience, which was developed in both Spanish and German law firms, until in 1995 she constituted her own.
Founder and ex-president of the Section of Family of the Madrid Bar, she is professor of Family Law of the Master for the Access to the Profession of Lawyer at the prestigious Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB), as well as at the University Rey Juan Carlos. She is also a member of the Academic Council of the Escuela de Técnica Jurídica, where she organizes and directs family law courses.
Isabel Winkels is a member of various national and international legal associations and forums, a member of the board of directors of the Confederation for the Best Interest of the Child (CEMIN), and an arbitrator for the European Association of Arbitration (AEADE) and the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), in which she actively intervenes in conflict resolution.
She regularly collaborates in different written and audiovisual media, advising and informing on legal issues.
